Meet 1st year Rookies, long term veterans and Canadian Olympians - all hitting
hard to make it to the top! Great stories, true life moments, meet them all face
to face. Learn what it really means to be a competitive rider in Canada.
Follow along with a skeletal 4 man crew as they film the unfolding stories of
struggles, successes and the pressures facing Grand Prix Equestrian Show Jumpers
in their effort to win the championships. Each episode profiles 3 riders, their
horses and keys on the obstacles of self, sport and venue.
Season One puts the spotlight on both rookies and Olympians and also introduced
various significant others as they traveled city to city in pursuit of points
and purse money. By the end of the season featured riders had camera time in as
many as 4 episodes as they competed in 8 tournaments in 8 cities across Canada
for the ultimate prize: Championship Title or better yet….recognition by the
Selection Committee responsible for fielding the Olympic team.
ALONG FOR THE RIDE and the first sponsored nation-wide tour, The Kubota Cup
Canadian Show Jumping Series, is the brainchild of Creator and Executive
Producer Sandra Fraser, a devoted Ottawa, Ontario based
equestrian who wanted to raise the profile of the sport and its athletes.
Sandra
turned to Generator Productions who subsequently
hired John Dolin, a former Gemini Nominee, to write and
direct the series. Dolin’s strategy is to keep the show informative,
entertaining, fast paced with the stories being told “straight from the horse’s
mouth”. The show is now shooting its second season.
